1. What is a color masterbatch?
Color Master Batch is a new type of colorant for polymer materials. It is composed of three basic elements of pigments or dyes, carriers, and additives, and the aggregate obtained by uniformly loading pigments or dyes in the resin can be called pigment concentrations, so its coloring power is higher than the pigment itself. To put it simply, a masterbatch is an aggregate of pigments or dyes uniformly attached to a resin.

Each variety can be divided into different grades, such as:
1. Advanced injection masterbatches:
Used in cosmetic packaging boxes, toys, electrical housings, and other high-grade products.
2. Ordinary injection masterbatches:
Used in general daily plastic products, industrial containers, etc.
3. Advanced blown film masterbatch:
For blow molding and coloring of thin products.
4. Ordinary blown film masterbatch:
It is used for blow molding and coloring general packaging bags and woven bags.
5. Spinning masterbatch:
Used for textile fiber spinning and coloring, master pigment particles are fine, high concentration, strong coloring power, heat resistance, and good lightfastness.
6. Low-level masterbatches:
It is used to manufacture low-grade products with low requirements on color quality, such as garbage cans, low-grade containers, etc.
7. Special masterbatches:
It is based on the plastic variety specified by the user for the product, and the same plastic is selected as the carrier to make the masterbatch. For example, PP masterbatches and ABS masterbatches use PP and ABS as carriers respectively.
General Purpose Masterbatch: A certain resin (often PE with a low melting point) is also used as a carrier, but it can be applied to the coloring of other resins other than its carrier resin.
8. Universal color masterbatch
Universal masterbatches are relatively simple and convenient, but there are many disadvantages, and it is recommended that users choose special masterbatches.
The heat resistance grade of the special masterbatches is generally suitable for the plastic used in the product, and it can be used with confidence at normal temperatures. However, in the following cases, it will cause different degrees of discoloration, one is that the temperature is not in the normal range, and the other is that the downtime is too long.
