Physical Properties
It appears as a bright bluish red powder and is insoluble in water. When dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns purplish red; upon dilution, it precipitates as a bluish red solid. It shows a brownish red color in concentrated nitric acid and turns red in contact with sodium hydroxide.
Chemical PropertiesIt has good light fastness and heat resistance, but relatively poor acid and alkali resistance.  Applications
1. InksIt is mainly used in NC-based packaging printing inks and serves as one of the standard colorants for gravure inks. Note that it may cause thickening when applied in water-based inks.
2. Plastic ProductsIt can be used for coloring various plastics. For instance, it withstands a temperature of up to 230ºC for 5 minutes in HDPE; it is widely applied in LDPE coloring and can also be used for masterbatch coloring of PP. In soft PVC, it provides coloring without bleeding.
3. CoatingsIt is applicable to low-cost industrial coatings, imparting vivid colors to the coating systems.
4. Rubber ProductsIt can be used for rubber coloring to achieve the desired color shades of rubber products.
5. Cultural and Educational SuppliesIt is suitable for coloring stationery items such as crayons and colored pencils, endowing these products with bright and vibrant colors.
