Product Features |
Fluorescence Brightener KCB is mainly used in the whitening of synthetic fiber and plastic products; such as plastic film, injection molding materials, PVC, TPR, EVA and PU foams etc. It is bright kelly powder, non-toxic odorless, insoluble in water; has excellent light/heat resistance.
Advantage: 1.It is convenient to collect and name the material. 2.The dispersivity is good, and the color stability control is easy to reduce the color difference, so that the product can increase the added value. 3.Easy to disperse, can save operation time, about 1/3 hours of color powder. 4.Do not scatter, reduce loss in operation, no pollution to plant, and not easy to produce color. 5.The mixed color matching can be used. 6.The product is brightly colored and has strong stability. |
Hue
The target color hue (e.g., red, yellow, blue) and undertone (e.g., reddish blue, greenish yellow) must be clearly defined.
Test Methods: CIE Lab color space analysis (ISO 7724), visual comparison with Pantone/RAL color cards.
Requirement: Color difference ΔE ≤ 1.0 (inter-batch consistency).
Opacity
Reflects the pigment's ability to cover the substrate, dependent on pigment concentration and dispersion quality.
Test Methods: Contrast ratio test (ISO 6504), coating method.
Requirement: Opacity ≥ 90% (≥95% for high-coverage applications).
Uniform distribution of pigments in the substrate, critical for surface finish and mechanical properties.
Test Methods: Microscopic observation, particle size analysis (DLS/SEM), colorimeter evaluation.
Requirement: No visible agglomerates or particles.
2. Physical & Chemical Properties
Stability under processing or service temperatures.
Test Methods: Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA, ASTM E1131), oven aging (ISO 2578).
Requirements:
Plastics processing: ≥ 200°C (e.g., injection molding grades);
High-temperature coatings: ≥ 300°C.
Resistance to UV light, humidity, and thermal cycling.
Test Methods:
Accelerated aging (ASTM G154, QUV test);
Natural exposure (ISO 877).
Requirements:
Outdoor applications: ≥ 1,000 hours without fading/yellowing (ΔE ≤ 2.0);
Indoor applications: ≥ 500 hours.
Resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, etc.
Test Methods: ISO 175 (immersion test), rub-off test.
Requirement: No discoloration, swelling, or migration.
Compatibility between the carrier resin's flowability and the base polymer.
Test Methods: ASTM D1238 (under specified temperature/load conditions).
Requirement: MFI deviation ≤ 20% from the base resin.
Required pigment concentration to achieve target color depth.
Typical Range: 0.5%-5% (adjustable based on pigment strength and substrate transparency).
Additional properties for specialized applications:
Conductivity/Antistatic Properties: Surface resistivity ≤ 10 Ω (ASTM D257);
Antimicrobial Performance: ≥ 99% bacterial inhibition (ISO 22196);
Fluorescent/Phosphorescent Effects: Customizable excitation wavelength and luminescence intensity.
Substrate Compatibility: The carrier resin (e.g., PP, PET, PC) must match the base polymer.
Cost Optimization: High-performance pigments (e.g., quinacridone red, TiO) may increase costs.
Lab-Scale Validation: Conduct small-scale tests (color matching, dispersion, heat resistance).
Supply Chain Coordination: Clarify lead times, MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), and technical support with suppliers.
